PRUNING/SHAPING TREES AND SHRUBS

Industry pruning standards dictate the outcome of your tree as no single branch is removed without reason.

  • Thinning is the selective removal of branches to increase light and air circulation and reduce weight throughout the canopy of a tree, which helps to lessen wind resistance and potential storm damage.
  • The removal of damaged, dead, dying or diseased branches improves the overall health of your trees and shrubs.
  • Clearance pruning maintains the space between other trees, pedestrians, buildings and power-lines.
  • Last of all we ensure your tree is aesthetically balanced and looks beautiful.

TREE REMOVALS/HAZARDOUS TREE ASSESSMENT

The last thing we like to do is remove trees but there are circumstances when it is necessary and our arborist can help you make that difficult decision. Larger removals can be dangerous work and although we have 15 years of experience in this field with a perfect track record we can put your mind at further ease as we are fully licensed and insured.

Removal is recommended when:

The tree is dead, dying or damaged and is considered an irreparably hazard. The tree is causing an obstruction that is impossible to correct. There are too many trees in one location crowding or causing harm to each other. The tree is to be replaced by a more suitable species for its location.

STUMP GRINDING

Is the process of reducing tree stumps and large surrounding surface roots to woodchips to a maximum depth of 18″-22” below grade. In suckering trees, generally we advise to remove the tree and stump when in full leaf, as this helps to reduce the amount of suckering.

TREE SURGERY

Bolting and Cabling your tree involves the installation of threaded steel rods and/or high strength cables to not only repair damage already done, but helps prevent damage that could potentially happen by preserving the integrity of the tree for longevity.

DEEP ROOT FERTILIZING

Deep root fertilizing basically helps the nutrients get into the root system where it is needed the most. Our general tree fertilizer contains a combination of 10% nitrogen, 10% phosphate and 10% other active nutrients and we recommend applying it both in the spring and fall.
